Who Is Elvie?
Elvie Schooley is a Licensed Master Social Worker whose work is centered in education, art and positive identity development. 
As a healthcare practitioner Elvie has twelve years of experience as a Licensed Massage Therapist specializing in the treatment of chronic pain. In her private practice as a massage therapist Elvie also served clients through yoga and meditation.
Elvie has studied the West African cultural arts of drum and dance for sixteen years under the leadership of Moustapha Bangoura and Youssouf Koumbassa here in the United States and in Guinea, Conakry.   
As a Holistic Transformational Coach Elvie curates a sacred space for groups of professional women of color to learn a lifestyle toolset that teaches mindfulness, improving communication, relationships, and behaviors. 
Elvie’s teaching methodology is “The Jewels Inside.” 
A lifestyle curriculum that assists cohorts of women through a process of connecting, discovering, and supporting each other to change personal and collective narratives
Elvie is also the founder and Executive Director of DRUM the Program, a cultural arts nonprofit organization serving minority youth in Central Alabama teaching social emotional skills for positive identity development.
Elvie is currently an Adjunct Professor at the University of Montevallo in Montevallo, Alabama teaching West African dance in the Theater Department.
